OMG!!!! I cant forget last year at the pageant, beauty was like In the air, you could feel and taste it.
Reports have it that all is now set for this year’s edition of Miss ECOWAS Peace Pageant being hosted by the Rivers State Government in Port Harcourt.
Delegates are expected to arrive Port Harcourt today with the opening press conference scheduled for this evening.
The pageant is targeted towards unification of the West African sub-region, youth development and showcasing of West African fashion, art and culture to Africa and the world.

The event coincides with the annual Port Harcourt Carnival (CARNIRIV) where delegates of the pageant would feature at the grand closing ceremony.
To celebrate Rivers State for its enormous contributions to the growth of the pageant, the organisers of the event have planned to ensure huge participation of ECOWAS states at this year’s CARNIRIV.
According to them, “the 2012 ECOWAS Peace Pageant is scheduled to hold on the evening of December 14, 2012. This date is strategically chosen, as it is the day for the Cultural Floats by the various Local Government Areas (LGA’s) of Rivers State. With the president of ECOWAS and his entire team, diplomats, business leaders, entertainment icons and traditional rulers in town for the Peace Pageant, this day will give them the opportunity to be part of celebrating Rivers State’s rich cultural heritage.”
A peace forum will be held on December 13 with the theme “The Role of Women in Peace Building”
I will be covering this event guys so visit everyday for updates. Already having talks with the organisers to have them on my show on Garden City 89.9fm tomorrow.
