Engr. Ikuru stated that the committee is not relenting in its efforts at tackling the challenges of the post-flood era and resettling victims in the four Local Government Areas of the State, noting that ‘‘the after effect of the flood disaster is more challenging than managing the people at the camp,’’ pointing out that the people lost their accommodation and means of livelihood. The Deputy Governor commended the Board and the pilgrims for their generosity stating ‘‘it takes a lot for someone to remember you in your period of discomfort,’’ calling on other public-spirited individuals and corporate organizations to emulate the step taken by the Board. Earlier, the Chairman of the Board, Monsignor John Wangbu, who presented a cheque of N500, 000 to the flood victims said ‘‘the 2012 Christian Pilgrims to Israel were saddened over the devastation caused by the flood disaster in the State,’’ stressing ‘‘in a bid to show love and care, decided to make the donation to cushion the effects in the post flood exercise.’’
