Over 100 Rivers women benefit from MOWA Seed CAPITAL



Rivers State Ministry of Women Affairs has presented seed capital of N50, 000 each to over 100 women from the 23 local Government areas in the state.The commissioner for Women Affairs Mrs. Joeba West who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Mrs. Ngozi O. 



Bennibor reiterated that as part of the commemoration of the 2014 International Women’s Day the Ministry made cash presentation to petty traders in the rural areas to boost  their businesses.
Mrs West urged the beneficiaries to ensure that the capital is utilized for their businesses so they can also become employers of labour thereby contributing to the advancement of women empowerment in the state.She said the Ministry is still working on programmes that will improve the women and urged them to take advantage of capacity building programmes being organized by the Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi led administration.Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Dike of Phalga thanked the Commissioner for the kind gesture, noting that it will go a long way to alleviate their struggles and keep their business afloat.She lauded the efforts of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and his wife Dame Judith Amaechi for ensuring that issues affecting women are being addressed adequately.
