The dream of completing a golf estate in Port Harcourt, Rivers State for lovers of golf would soon be realised, Rivers State Governor and Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi said this speaking in Lagos at the weekend at the Ikeja Golf Club during the club’s Captain Day celebration.
Governor Amaechi said he would be pleased to invite Lagosians to Port Harcourt to play golf.He said the golf estate would have an 18-hole golf course with a nine-hole practicing area for new entrants.“I must say that I am extremely delighted to be in your presence and to share with you some of my immediate thoughts as I sat here. “I can tell you that what we are doing that will encourage you to join us is that we are building an 18-hole golf estate in Port Harcourt and I am told by the investor that it will be ready around February. “It has an 18-hole golf course and a nine-hole practice golf course. So, we hope you will come to play golf there and we would be delighted to host you," Governor Amaechi said.At the event, Governor Amaechi who received a warm welcome was later called upon to present prizes to some deserving golfers for their excellent performance.
