GOVERNOR AMAECHI REGAINS HIS FREEDOM


After an unwarranted attack on his person and infringement on his freedom of movement, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been allowed to leave Olorunsogo – Ilado, Ondo State.

Governor Amaechi was allowed to leave by road after the aircraft that carried him to Akure was impounded on superior orders. 

The governor is in high spirits and remains committed to the ideals of democratic rule and the right of all parties to a free and fair contest.

Rivers State Gov Partners With the University of Arkansas USA for Youth Training and Agriculture


The Rivers State government is to enter into partnership with the University of Akansas, United States of America in the area of youth training as well as agricultural development to create more jobs in the state.
This was made known to Journalists by the Commissioner of Youth Development, Owene Wonodi in Port Harcourt after the executive council meeting.
Wonodi said a twelve-man delegate would be departing to the US on Saturday for the exchange programme. Read Full Post after Cut.

MOSOP: Rivers State Government Stole 2000 Hectares of Farmland in Ogoni Land.

Just Saw this Press Release and felt i should post it. Although a rally has already taken place, how true are these allegations? I think its important the government give their own side of the story.. don't you think so? Well here is the Press release.
The Movement for The Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has revealed documents showing how the Rivers State Government fraudulently acquired over 2,000 hectares of Ogoni farmlands and handed them to a Mexican farmer for the establishment of a banana plantation.
The documents which were publicly distributed in Bori, the traditional headquarters of the Ogoni people by the MOSOP Kingdom Coordinators Forum headed by Frank Jonah revealed that the Rivers State Government’s claim of having diligently consulted with the land owners and paid them for the land is far from the truth.
