Total Donates Medical Equipment to UPTH

Total, has donated modern emergency room equipment to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The state of the art equipment donated are: two Defibrillators, one Ultrasound Scanner, one Mobile X-ray machine, five Ventilators, one EGC machine, 10 Electronics Vital Sign monitors, five Laryugo Scopes,24 Ambu bags, 10 Electronic thermometers,10 Oxygen Cylinders, 10 Sphygmometers, five Suction machines and one Perkins 100KVA Generator. 

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the institution, Chief Medical Director, UPTH, Professor Aaron Ojule, commended Total and its partners for the laudable gesture. “This is something that speaks eloquently for your company. Our hospital is in the heart of the Niger Delta; the hub of oil company activities in the region. We are open to everybody, and everybody is our client. That gives us a lot of challenge trying to meet up the needs of everybody.”

Total’s Deputy Managing Director, Port Harcourt District, Mr. Nicolas Brunet, expressed appreciation to the company’s partners – Nigerian national Petroleum Corporation; Petrobras, South Atlantic Petroleum; and China National Offshore Oil Corp for supporting the effort adding that similar equipment had been donated to other teaching hospitals in the Niger Delta and Lagos.

The Group General Manager, NAPIMS, Mr. Morrison Fidi, noted that the equipment would meet the needs of the hospital and pledged to always support Total in her efforts to meet the aspirations of Nigerians in quality health care delivery. His message was delivered by Mr. Harry Agbo.
