MINISTRY OF EDUCATION OPENS BIDDING FOR THE FURNISHING OF MODEL SCHOOLS

Rivers State Ministry of Education has opened bidding for the award of contracts on ICT, Generators and security outfit for 250 model Secondary Schools in the State.

Addressing 28 contractors that bidded, Commissioner for Education, Dame Alice Nemi assured that due process would be followed in award of the contracts. The Commissioner, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Richard Ofuru, warned against going through the back door to win contracts, stressing that the award would be strictly on merit. “The Ministry would be as transparent as possible and the bidding process does not start and end with the Ministry” she emphasised. She said there is no definite date for the announcement of the winners of the contracts but advised bidders to check regularly in the Ministry.
