Boko Haram: Military Dislodges Terrorists From Balmo Forest Base

• 44 terrorist, six soldiers killed

Nigerian military in its latest offensive against Boko Haram Islamic Sect has cleared and taken over Balmo forest in an operation that lasted throughout the weekend.

This was disclosed in a statement signed Monday by the Director of Defence Information (DDI), Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade.

Olukolade said that prior to the operation, Balmo forest stretching from Bauchi through Jigawa States with links to the fringes of Sambisa forest was used by terrorists as bases and hideouts for launching attacks. See More Pictures of weapons and ammunitions of various calibre after Cut.
