Residents of Rivers State have sued for the full implementation of 2013 budget that was passed on Thursday by the Rivers State House of Assembly to better living condition of the people living in the state.
They said there should be a marked difference in the implementation of this
year’s budget compared to what was experienced in the previous years where most projects
and provision of social amenities though budgeted for, were not accorded concerted
attention to offer the hope of their completion soon.
While requesting that wastage in the budget
implementation process should be curtailed, they expressed the hope that government
would create the required environment to encourage the growth of business capable
of engaging the teeming unemployed youths in the state.
